Describe
Today I had two Science lessons. So our teacher gave us a
test. Our teacher is Mr. Husking ( I hope I don't get it wrong).
He knows Putonghua luckily. He is very nice. At the first
minute I got my test paper, I didn't how to do it. Fortunately,
we are allowed to watch others when they were doing their
test. The test was an experiment luckily. I sat in the first
row so I could see each step clearly. And when I knew that
I pass it, I was really delighted.
Interpret
Feeling really nervous when I got the test paper because I
got nothing to do with it. But when I saw others doing the
test, I started not feeling so nervous. When I passed the
test, I nearly jumped up to the sky. I was so happy.
Evaluate
I learn that we can do things in different ways and we should
help others. When Sammi was doing her test, she didn't know
how to say it in English. So I asked her to tell me in Cantonese.
Mr. Husking understood it and let her pass. How lucky she
was.
Plan
I will study harder and try to understand what
the teachers say in class.

Describe
On Thursday, I had double-Science lessons.
Usually, we do experiments on that day because we can have
plenty of time to do experiments. Our teacher, Mr Hosking
told us to do an experiment on boiling water with sugar /salt/
vinegar. I chose to work on salt with water. First we need
to place the burning mat under the Bunsen burner. Then, we
need to connect the gas tube with gas. Next, we need to close
air hole so that the flame will become the safe flame, yellow
flame. After that, we need to put the chemicals (salt with
water) on the fire. Finally, we need to use the thermometer
to find out the temperature in 10 minutes and jot it down
on our notebooks.
Interpret
I felt very nervous, because in Hong Kong when
we have Science lessons we will usually work on the computer
and the teacher will do the experiments so this time is the
first time I had experiment by myself. I also felt very happy,
because during the experiment, I had so much fun. I felt satisfied
with my final result because Mr. Hosking said it was the right
answer and we did the experiment quickly and neatly.
Evaluate
I learnt that if we want to adjust the air
hole on the Bunsen burner while burning, we just use two of
our fingers to move it slowly. Also, I learnt that usually
the liquid will start boiling (bubbling) at 100C. On the other
hand, I learnt that the safe flame is yellow flame and the
hazard flame is blue because it is the hottest and we can't
see it easily.
Plan
In the future, when I need to do experiments,
I will calm myself first, so that I can do it better. Also,
I will move the air hole on the Bunsen burner slower while
burning next time so that I won't hurt myself.

Describe
Today, I went to Gold Coast with my buddy, Phoebe
and Phoebe's buddy. First, we went to the beach for swimming
and collecting shells. The water in there is clear and the
sand is soft too! We enjoyed a lot in it too! Next, we went
to McDonald's for having lunch, I had a happy meal and I though
it was yummier than the Hong Kong's one, the chips were crispy
and the soft drinks were sweet. Then, we went shopping. We
went to the clothes shop only so I didn't buy anything but
I picked some clothes for my buddy. Finally, we went back
home and shored what we did today.
Interpret
I felt very glad in making sand castles with
my buddy because we did not argue while we were building it,
we also gave each other some suggestions so that the sand
castle could be stronger. Although I felt happy and excited
at the beach, I felt quite bored in the clothes shop because
the clothes were not suitable for me and they were expensive.
Evaluate
After the trip to Gold Coast, I learn that we
have to be polite when we are asking questions, we shouldn't
be rude because it is impolite and people may think that you
are a rude person.
I also learn to be brave while we are talking to someone,
we should not be shy so that you can make friends easily and
learn to speak more.
Plan
From now on, I will be polite to everyone. For
example, if I am in trouble and I need some teachers' help,
I will use some polite phrases such as: Sorry, Excused me,
May I, Please and Thank you.
(6C08) 洪恩霖
Describe
Today was my first day at Australia. I met
my home stay at Livingstone Christian College. I felt very
excited when I met my home stay. My home stay is called Michelle
and my buddy is called Tiana. Her brother is called Zac and
her father is called Troy. They are very nice and playful.
I love them very much. They have a dog, a bird and two fish.
I always play with the dog. She is very pretty. The bird is
very cute too!
Interpet
I felt nervous when I met them. But I felt
very great when I talked with them. I really like to talk
with them. I knew a lot of things from them. I felt happy
and excited too. And I miss my parents, my brother, Valerie,
Cynthia, my friends and teachers.
Evaluate
I learned that I need to be brave when I talk
with my home stay and my buddy. I can't be shy when I need
something too.
Plan
I will set a time to have a shower and I need
to set a time for sleep because they sleep very early and
I need to follow them. I need to talk with them more too!
(6A28) 譚鴻欣
Describe
It was a fun Saturday on Australia. I went to the museum with
my home stay in the morning. We went to the city and home
stay papa drove his car. After about an hour, we got to the
city. We went to the museum on foot after we parked the car.
We first took a photo in front of the museum. We saw the exhibits
about insects and an exhibition about special things in different
countries on the first floor.
After that, we went to the second floor to see the exhibitions.
Those were about animals living on the ground. There were
also some plane models and a room which was about the Second
World War.
Next, we went to the 3/F and 4/F. The exhibitions there were
about animals living in the sky and old things in the past.
Finally, we had our lunch in McDonald .I had a burger, fried
chips and a cup of Fanta.
Interpet
It was a really fun day since I have been to
Australia. I was interested in everything I have seen. The
exhibits were so beautiful and they made me excited when looking
at them. Although I didn't like the exhibitions about the
old things in the past much, it was a good day. The lunch
I had was yummy too.
Evaluate
I learnt many things in this trip. I learnt how the animals
can fly and some other knowledge. But the most important point
is I learnt that we can learn things from the world around
us. Many things we don't know can be learned from this. Don't
just learn things by reading or go on the internet.
Plan
I will learn new things from the nature but not just from
the books and the computer. I know I will get some surprise
and special things that I cannot get from the books and the
computer.

Describe:
During this week, my home family tried to teach
me how to ride a bike. Certainly, it is easier to learn how
to swim. But I had to use my very best to learn how to ride
a bike. Now, I can only ride a bike with the help of Mr. Henn
and Mrs. Henn. They were very good to me! Maxime tried to
teach me too! But unfortunately, I got hurt on my leg. This
family is really good to me.
Interpret:
I wanted to give up when I fell down and got
quite a serious hurt. It was really painful!!! I was sad and
disappointed when I had tried a lot of time but still failed.
I was very delighted when I could ride a bike with a very
little help of Mr. and Mrs. Henn! I could not believe I could
do it!
Evaluate:
I have learnt if I want to solve the difficulties,
I have to work really hard and work a lot of times although
it still failed. I should never give up too! And certainly,
I learnt how to ride a bike although I still cannot do it.
I learnt that when I cannot do something, I must ask for help.
I cannot just think and think but do not have a useful idea
or method to solve the difficulties or problems.
Plan:
I hope I can still continue to work very hard
so that I can learn how to ride a bike. Therefore, I will
be brave to go to ask for help to solve my or others' problems
or difficulties. I will not give up either when I fail a lot
of times.
● Fund
raising while selling snacks
(6D14) 林智浩
Describe
We had a fund -raising activity today. At nine o'clock
in the morning, we went to school and prepared for the things.
Half an hour later, everything was ready. We started selling
food and raising money. We all felt scared at first. Soon,
we became brave through the experience and talked with the
customers.
Interpret
I felt happy. It was because after finishing a deal, I
felt very happy when I heard noise from the coins dropping
into the box. Although I felt a bit tired, I still felt
excited. It was because we need to take things between the
counter and fridge but we need to finish it quickly.
Evaluate
Today, I learnt that we must prepare doing everything
otherwise we will be busy while selling. Also, I learnt
to listen to others' suggestion because sometimes the other's
suggestion may be better than yours and we shouldn't keep
talking to our friend while selling or we will lose the
customers and give them a bad memory.
Plan
I will try not to argue with my friends in the future,
otherwise we will leave a bad memory in the customers' mind.
I will try to be brave and confident to talk with the customers
next time. Also, if we do something wrong, we should say
sorry to them. At last I won't buy the products without
looking carefully. Because if we do it, we will waste our
money.

Describe
Today we sold the snacks so that we can collect fund to
go to Australia . We sold fishballs , sausages and dim sum
, but we always change the price because many people came
to buy the food . We saw we had not enough food to sell
so we went to the Wellcome supermarket to buy enough food
.
Interpret
I think this activity can train our cooperation. If the
dispute cannot be settled , we cannot finish this activity
well . I enjoy the course very much, because I can try how
to buy and sell the food .
Evaluate
The teachers let us know that in Australia , only we can
help each other , the teacher will not be with us. To make
it successful, we need to decide many things , including
the quantity of the goods we purchase, the role of each
of us and so on.
Plan
We shall communicate with the group members more, so that
the activity will be finished smoothly .
● Walkathon
(6E16) 梁素蕾
Describe
We walked to Tai Po from Sha Tin on 23rd February, 2010.
First, we shared about how we felt at the moment. Then,
we started to walk to Tai Po Waterfront Park. After three
hours, we came to the last stop and went up to the tower
quickly. Finally, all of us could go up the tower.
Interpret
When we started the walk, we thought that this may be an
interesting activity. But we were very tired and lazy to
walk again. I need to thank the other ten apprentice. It
is because they trusted me. I also thank my parents and
teacher because all of them support me.
Evaluate
After the activity, I have learned:
1. If I have problems when I stay in Australia in April,
I should find another ten people to solve the problems with
me. 2. I ought to trust them fully. It is because there
will be no teachers or helpers to help me.
Plan
I will get some ideas to do better than before. I will
not hate anyone in the future because when someone hated
me last time, I was unhappy and very sad .I had this bad
feeling so I don't want anyone to have this sad feeling
like me.

Describe
Today , it was my big day !It was the 'Fund-raising walkathon'
.We need to walk three to four hours to finish our walkathon
. First , when we arrived at Sha Tin Town Hall , we sang
our school hymn. After that , Miss Chuk prayed with us together
.Then , we share how we felt before we started the journey
one by one . We got lost once because the people pointed
at different way to Tai Po ! Later , we luckily found the
correct way to Tai Po . When we were on the way to the Tai
Po Science Park , we started feeling tired and hot . Suddenly
, Mr. Ho asked us to walk one by one because he wanted us
to be brave and when we go to Australia , maybe sometimes
we will feel lonely so we have to solve this problems by
ourselves .After one hour , we arrived at the Lookout Tower
at Tai Po Waterfront Park. I felt satisfied because I could
finish the whole route !
Interpret
I felt satisfied because I could finish the whole route
. At first , I felt happy but later, I started to feel tired
and I did not want to finish it, I wanted to give up .
Evaluate
I learnt that we should stay calm when we have some problems
or when we get lost. Also , we should keep ourselves patient
.
Plan
Next time , when I meet some problems , First , I will
stay clam . Then, I will think of an idea or a way to solve
that problem . We should take care of other people too.
